Sankar: Your analysis seems pretty close to reality. I read the other day that the first choice of Vajpayee for Defence minister's post was Dr.Abdul Kalam but he respectfully declined the position as his main interest seems to be in science and developing new technologies for the country and hence the choice of George- a labor leader,a patriot,
but a big mouth.

I have to disagree with one of your comments about Muslims being now part of the Indian family or they have been convinced by BJP and/or Shiv Sena to be so. I believe this a myth created by parochial political interests in the country, as Muslims and other religious groups like Hindus were/are always been a part of the Indian family in spite of their religion,I don't see how they can be anything else.Just because they chose another religion by force or by their own accord is irrelevant and should not be a factor in their Indianess as they are as much Indian than any old Hindu.

I think if anybody thinks they can rule India peacefully by creating a rift between Hindus and other religious groups or by alienating various religious factions are fooling themselves.If they succeed somehow to come to power on this platform it will be a great disaster and a greater threat than any extraneous forces.I believe India needs
all her children in spite of their religious differences and that will be our greatest strength and certainly not a weakness.This is my opinion. Man I hate religious fundamentalists and fanatics be it Christian,Muslim,Hindu,Sikh or whatever and proselytizers I 'shoot'em' at sight,at least if I could have had my way.<VBG>
