William Binder: Re: Will WIND shares tank?

It is impossible to predict what the future holds for any stock's
price.

If WIND were to tank, my guess is that it would rebound eventually.
I think that the WIND's I2O business is the most important to their
immediate prospects. IxWorks isn't vulnerable to Inferno, in the I2O
application.

The competion will be intense in the Internet Appliance market.
Geoworks GEOS, Lucent's Inferno, Microsoft's WindowsCE, Microware's
OS9 & Sun Microsystem's JAVA seem to be targetting, smart phones,
interactive TVs, Video-on-Demand, PDAs etc.

To WIND's credit, their marketing plan is not as narrowly focused as
some of the other RTOS vendors. Look at the stock price charts of GWRS
or MWAR; both of which are targetting Internet-enabled Appliances
almost exclusively.

In general, the market has been unkind to tech stocks lately (look
at the charts of network eqpt. stocks: CSCO, ASND, COMS, CSCC, FORE,
SHVA, USRX). Nervousness about future earnings has pushed these stocks
way down. This environment is what is effecting WIND's share price, in
my opinion.

When the earnings potential of I2O begins to filter through to the
bottom line, the market will see that WIND is in a different situation
from the other RTOS vendors and tech stocks in general.

This is the scenario, as it plays out in my imagination.
Actual results may, and in all likelihood probably will, vary.

Best Regards,

Frank
