TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 1, 2000--Chronicle Communications Inc. (OTCBB:CRNC), (http://www.chronicleinc.com) announced Wednesday that its has moved the product development function and administrative offices of its subsidiary, AmeriComp Computers, Inc., to Tampa, Florida. Chronicle will relocate Mr. Kevin Nguyen of AmeriComp to Tampa to work closer with Chronicle's management and graphics staff on the AmeriComp catalog. The first catalog is expected to be released by June 1, 2000. The AmeriComp staff will complete the computer network build out of Chronicle's 10,000 square foot training center at its headquarters in Tampa, Florida.
AmeriComp's Houston sales department will be re-staffed to reflect the Company's new business model of deploying regional sales offices. AmeriComp will fulfill hardware and software sales from its facility in Tampa, Florida. All customer service representatives will be trained at Chronicle's new training facility for quality assurance. Chronicle will host AmeriComp's Internet website on its servers and perfect its "database to web offset printing" model. The sales offices will now be staffed with technical sales staff only. Chronicle has targeted Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Tampa Bay and Orlando as projected sales office openings for the year 2000.
According to David E. Salmon, Chief Operating Officer of Chronicle: "The is a natural move for AmeriComp. Each market will be opened with direct mail saturation of our print catalog, followed up by offline, radio and outdoor advertising. The Internet development sales staff will spend several weeks training in Tampa for their market's launch. This allows Chronicle to open direct sales markets throughout the country with the residual effect of advertising a national e-commerce and catalog sales model. We are satisfied with the Houston market and we look forward to continuing to serve our customers in Texas."
