Jeff the folks in Carmel by the Sea have been fighting about toilets down at the beach. They had none at first, but when they noticed the joggers, surfers (no offense) and general beachgoers were using the trees and bushes they decided to solve the problem by installing some toilets along Senic Drive. What they installed were your basic rental Port-A-Potty...you know the plastic ones you see on job sites and such. Around them they put up solid board fences to screen them from view, the wood is rough sawn (rustic) and they left it nature to weather. The only complaint they've had is from neigbors who said they smell...SO they decided to have them serviced twice as often.

I figure the fence cost maybe $700-$900 each and the cleaning/pumping service cost $80-$100 per month. So they have beat the living crap out of the Park Services per turd cost! <GG>
