Cross posting my Yahoo banter:
Funds okay--it's the dilution by: MichaelWMcF 1350 of 1351 Ariad can get funds, the report says they will have enough cash to get through the second quarter of 2000.
And... "Subsequent commitments by HMR to purchase Series B Preferred Stock are $8,536,000 and $8,691,000 for each of the years ended December 31, 2000 and 2001, respectively, and $2,026,000 for the three months ended March 31, 2002."
The question for me is why they would just give away 3.5M shares for a mere short term loan...the 10% is already a slap in the face...what a scam!
I hope all this nonsense turns out to be smoke and mirrors. In fact, why if this is such a dead stock, is there steady trading going on in here just above a buck? Somebody out there seems to be interested in swapping with somebody else, and clearly the agreed upon price to do the swap is right here around 1 1/32. Hey, that's great, I don't get stopped out--but why?
Finally, the Gilman thing just doesn't make sense at all. Ariad has the right patents in place...if Biogen suddenly came up with their own version of ARGENT--then sue. Again, smoke and mirrors--but to what end? It certainly isn't merely to keep me squirming, I haven't enough shares to be important. If all this B.S. is about Berger's ego, that will be too bad. Of course I've never even spoken to the fellow, so who knows? I'll try LaMarche again later today.
Squirming by: MichaelWMcF 1351 of 1351 Actually, now that I think about it, maybe the toxic and this latest thing were indeed designed to keep commoners squirming and churning. After all--Ariad can limp along for a couple years, with a stock that goes nowhere, and that would the perfect environment for insiders to start accumulating shares quietly. Suppose the folks at Ariad want desperately to grab common--but they know that as soon as stuff shows up on Edgar, it will be all over this, and other, threads.
I've noted before that the toxic and the Science article came about the same time--just circumstance?
Wouldn't you just love to find out that somebody like Crabtree is secretly getting shares through Brown Simpson. But that might not be legal without disclosure.
Another possibility is that a dozen other companies will soon have protein regulation schemes just like ARGENT, and Ariad isn't even close to doing Insulin. |
