<I accept uncertainty, where the established religions claim to have the entire truth>.
Clearly there are some uncertainties in the Christian faith as evidenced by the many denominational distinctives, and I know of none that claim to have the "entire" truth, in the sense that they have a complete understanding of the world they live in. We do however have a common belief that Jesus is Truth, he has become one with us through faith, and this oneness helps to clear up our perception. After all our limited perception is one of our biggest obsticles to discerning truth. I most certainly do not recommend religion for seeking truth, or salvation (restoration of a relationship to God the creator). I believe Jesis would agree with me since He saved his harshest words for the religious leaders of his day. He called them a "brood of vipers", "hypocrites", white washed sepulchers full of dead men's bones" and worse.
Jesus said, "I AM the way, the way, and the truth, no man comes to the Father (God the creator) except by me". This is a bold claim and can only be true or false. What do you do with this scripture.
One other Question. If God created the world and you, does this not give him the rigth to set the terms of engagement? It seems at times that you have set yourself up to be the final arbiter of truth, rather than letting God be God. If Jesus was God's ticket to truth for man could you accept that?
Have a good day,
