"Indeed, even Valentine would be impressed if Cisco were to keep the torch burning for
another ten years as technology advances occur at an accelerating pace. To keep up with
new advances, high-tech breakthroughs, revolutions and the ultimate winning technologies,
Cisco would have to keep up the principle of creative destruction quite rapidly. Creative
destruction refers to the notion that companies need to obsolete their own products or
else someone else will."

"Creative destruction" or: obsolete your products before your competition does.

The big question: is EMC willing to eat their young? It's not clear, since
they still lead with the Symmetrix or Celerra/Symmetrix combination. Even
leading with that, NTAP compares favorably against that combination.

NTAP needs more deals like Oracle ASP and partnerships like SAP. These
hit "right in EMC's kitchen" and might be the beginnings of the sign
that the "storage torch" is being passed. Time will tell.
