Liz, Your protests have been heard, and are addressed even as we type. Comcast cable in (Michigan) is in competition with Ameritech DSL (phone company) and are each offering internet access for $20/mo for the 1st 6 months. then they hope to get $49/mo after that. Of course when they see how many people will just churn, they will probably stabilize at $30/mo like you suggest.

That offer is for new subscribers only. But My wife called comcast and threatened to switch to DSL for $20/mo, so how about just save everyone the hassle and give us the introductory deal, even though we've been customers of comcast internet cable for 4 years. And they agreed. So now we're paying $20 since May.
