I hadn't heard anything about Gates dumping $150M into AAPL before it happened, and look what came about.... I think there could be plenty going on that no one knows about.

But I wholeheartedly agree about your points regarding X86 and PPC. My only point is that Rhapsody is going to give users a FAR better computing platform (options-wise) than anything has up to this point. An with as cozey as Bill and Steve seem to be getting, I don't think your scenario #3 is so terribly crazy. It's going to come down to the apps in the end, of course, but with everything else that's taken place in both PPC and Intel chip architectures, big dogs like Gates and Jobs can get the software end of this thing taken care of if they really want to.

I, too, would HATE to see AAPL move away from the PPC. How could that be go for the platform?
