Obama embraces (some) alternative sexual orientations

On June 1, President Obama named June as: "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month."

And he went on to say:

"During LGBT Pride Month, I call upon the LGBT community, the Congress and the American people to work together to promote equal rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation, or gender identity."

That will undoubtedly be gratifying to Mark Henkel, of Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

Mr. Henkel – whose e-mail identifies him as the National Polygamy Advocate – will be delighted that our president has stated his belief in equal rights for: all, regardless of sexual orientation.

He writes: "Contrary to its supporters' claims, New Hampshire's new same-sex marriage law does not provide 'equal access to marriage for all.' … The new law intentionally discriminates against polygamous consenting adults."

Don't miss David Kupelian's culture-war classic, "The Marketing of Evil: How Radicals, Elitists, and Pseudo-Experts Sell Us Corruption Disguised as Freedom"

"The new '457:2 Marriage Prohibited' [statute] now declares, 'No person shall marry his or her father, mother, father's brother, father's sister, mother's brother, mother's sister, son, daughter, brother, sister, son's son, son's daughter, daughter's son, daughter's daughter, brother's son, brother's daughter, sister's son, sister's daughter, father's brother's son, father's brother's daughter, mother's brother's son, mother's brother's daughter, father's sister's son, father's sister's daughter, mother's sister's son, or mother's sister's daughter. No person shall be allowed to be married to more than one person at any give time.'

"The very last sentence there was completely new. Same-sex supporters had intentionally changed the combined anti-incest and anti-gay-marriage ban into a combined anti-incest and anti-polygamy ban. They intentionally re-directed to purposely 'discriminate' against consenting adult polygamists – the clearly known bigotry of equating consenting adult polygamy with the biological dysfunction of incest.

"The matter gets worse. After purposely 'discriminating' against consenting adult polygamists, the new law startlingly then allows for under-age heterosexual marriage while it bans under-age same-sex marriage.

"New Hampshire's new gay marriage law does not end 'discrimination' at all. It absolutely does not provide 'equal access to marriage' for all. Rather, New Hampshire's new same-sex marriage law intentionally discriminates against consenting adult polygamists."

Let me, while carefully recalling President Obama's call for "equal rights for all – regardless of sexual orientation" – note that such should provide marriage rights not only for polygamists and polyandrists (one woman with multiple men).

There is in addition to these and those marriages that would be incestuous a number of other sexual orientations for which President Obama's wording (if not, I presume, his intent) calls for recognition. If same-sex marriage by male homosexuals, who have the nation's highest rate of AIDS and now syphilis, is to be nationally tolerated as our president calls upon us to do – and which Iowa and all of New England (except Rhode Island) have voted to approve – what about the large number of OTHER sexual orientations?

What about some marriage laws to provide nuptials and licenses for adult humans with (non-objecting) animals? Or for sadists who wish to marry masochists? Or for necrophiliacs who wish not only to copulate with corpses – but to marry them?

The following appeared on Boston.com, on June 4:

"It took decades and at times antagonistic battles, but Harvard's gay community says it has finally cemented its academic legitimacy at the nation's oldest university. College officials will announce today they will establish an endowed chair in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender studies, in what is believed to be the first professorship of its kind in the country."

To which my WCBM-Baltimore colleague and great friend, Tom Marr, commented:

"Next: S&M chair."
