The only way the US could take the "matches" away is really to force reform on the Middle East. We are trying, but I am doubtful of results. We do not have the power to beg, buy or threaten cooperation from the Arabs, or we would have got it before now. Look at Mubarak. $2 Billion a year from the US, and he nixed the the deal in 2000 and smuggles arms by the ton into Gaza.
