IJNT are into second generation ADSL called the 1 meg modem. The difference between our's Jim, and the new one is you buy it at radio shack and plug it in at home yourself , much like a regular modem. Problem is you have to be in a 1 meg modem friendly telco which ours is not. However , as with everything in life, as long as it's cheap/fast who cares which version we have. What the 1 meg modem will do is reduce the cost to telco's to give them an incentive to offer the service. The 1 meg modem/ADSL is the last mile tech that will bring services like movies on demand, video conferencing, work at home , as a reality.
