You speak as if there was a choice, as if there was something we could do to avert it. There isn't.

If a major conflict between muslims and the west unavoidable anyway, then what's the problem with trying my approach first to see if we can release some of the pressure?

What have we got to lose versus what we might have to gain, if we're successful?

I'd rather try and take preventative actions first, even if it requires the loss of hundreds or thousands of Americans trying to prevent the inevitable, than to sit around and wait for and even greater conflagration, including a suicide chem/bio/nuke attack that takes the lives of millions.
