Spankers: Some parents spank their kids when they are at the end of their patience and just don't know what else to do to end the annoying behavior. Other parents spank their kids to punish bad behavior because they love their children and do not want them to grow up thinking that the most significant person in their life (as a child) approved of or tolerated indecent or despicable behavior. Parent number one teaches their child to be violent when they are annoyed. Parent number two spanks without emotion except sometimes remorse and uses this attention getter to guide their child to good and decent behavior. The latter child knows it is because the parent loves good and decent behavior and wants them to know that evil is punished. They want only the best for the child. This child grows up feeling supported toward goodness and decency and acts accordingly. I never felt the need to spank my daughters, thank God.
