Thanks for the response. How I read the metamarkets report it did seem that the issue of convergence is NOW. so yor point above seems to be pointing to the playing field that may well determine the winner.

The article seems to confirm this by indicating that the huge growth in storage needs will be for "content" rather than static data (like accounting records).

If the question is just who will win the NAS-SAN convergence, I would bet on the company moving upstream (ala disruptive innovation thesis). Question your point about content mgt/dist then brings up is it a move upstream, downstream, or an entirely new market?

My bet will stay on NTAP, until I hear good reason to bet otherwise.
