If you go back over your posts with regard to this you will understand how your quote (above) introduced confusion. As to "behaviours" being likened to ripping apart prey..."behaviours" on SI are the sharing of opinions. Opinions may be hurtful, ignorant or ill-conceived; but the opinions are not hyenas, and neither is eating. So I don't think you were "attributing" hyena to any "behaviour". Perhaps you were attributing the actions of either hyenas or SI posters to some sort of character trait. I can understand you attributing a behaviour to a nature which is "hyena-like". I cannot understand you attributing the hyena to the act. The hyena is not the attribute of the act...rather, the act characterizes the hyena. You were trying to attribute "hyena" to a "behaviour". If you had (more properely) attributed a behaviour to a characteristic of certain scavengers (two come to mind)...I would possibly have understood you...
