Anacomp(R) and Swiss-Based Migros Sign Online Document-Management Outsource Services Agreement
Premier Swiss Supermarket Chain Chooses Industry-Leading Service For Online Document Management
SAN DIEGO, April 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Anacomp, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANCO), a leading global provider of document-management solutions, announced today that it has signed a service agreement with Migros, the largest food and non-food distribution chain in Switzerland, for online delivery and storage of financial and inventory documents. Migros needed to simplify the handling of its paper and electronic documents and to standardize the archived databases in its different cooperatives. After evaluating several vendors, Migros chose Anacomp to provide a complete outsource solution. Under the agreement, Anacomp will capture, index, and transform financial reports, invoices, and other documents related to Migros's inventory and deliver the electronic images to Migros's personnel. On a daily basis, Migros transfers output files via a dedicated communication line to Anacomp's location in Zurich, Switzerland. The documents are processed and then stored on secure optical disk. Anacomp's document-management outsource solution delivers several benefits to Migros. The online service requires no capital investment, will be rapidly implemented with no interruption in daily operations, and gives Migros access to state-of-the-art technology that provides immediate, company-wide access to archived documents. As the document-management outsource service provider, Anacomp provides, for a set monthly fee, all system administration and upgrades. "Developing online document-delivery capabilities is very important for Migros," said Beat Halter, head of IT and Finance for Migros. "By working with Anacomp, we operate more efficiently, have instant access to documents when we need them, and provide better service to our business partners and customers." "We are pleased to be working with Migros to assist them in improving their document-management processes," said Peter Williams, executive vice president of Anacomp. "By placing these critical documents online, Migros employees in all of their locations can access information immediately, resulting in increased productivity and enhanced customer service." |
