I think that the bump is due in part to the news coupled to the company's prior strong performance and to the current interest in companies that might profit from anti-terrorist activities.

CMVT's performance has been very strong. The current Wall Street Consensus AQO (Avg. Qualitative Opinion) is 2.00. The "scoring" is Sell = less that 0.0; Weak hold = 0.0 to .34; Hold = .35 to .74; Buy/Hold = .75 to .99; and Buy = 1.0 or more. This is in spite of the fact that current 3rd quarter EPS is an avg of $.25 with a high of $.26 which is less than the $.29 earned for the 2nd quarter. In the past 4 years, 3rd quarter actual have always beaten the 2nd quarter. I've seen nothing to indicate that that trend will be broken.

Of CMVT's 28 key competitors, only one other has an AQO of 2.0 and the next closest is 1.66 with an average of .71. Within their segment, CMVT is clearly a company to own. While its' P/E is higher and its ROE, ROA and sales efficiency ratios are lower than the segment, its Revenue and Earnings growth rates are "off the chart" when compared to it industry peers.

All that being said, I hope you're at least partially right that the surge was not due to the yesterday's news but rather because of some knowledge of impending good news.
