death to SI? - only if NYSE and NASDAQ die first.

Killing SI because of low traffic may happen but only if the owners don't understand their business. The market rockets up, people buy more stock and SI is busy; slower markets mean slower postings on SI. That is self-evident.

Any business in the *volatile* stock business must plan for and expect slow times. Its just not that exciting to see your portfolio fluctuate (down?) 1-2? day in and out. It will be a shame if the owners of SI dont see the value fo sitting out lull in business for the next run-up around the corner.

From an economic perspective, we could not have asked for more this year. Economic and interest rate incentives followed by an intense international war where we at least appeared to be victorious. Historically, war has been both an economic and psychological catalylst for recovery. Its not that I am condoning war but the correlation between war and recovery is just too strong.

I suspect we shall see new technology paradigms and a pickup in business second quarter '02 or earlier 2022.

IMHO-
