9/11 changed the face of things

It changed nothing. It just woke some people up. It was a brutal shock and hurt deeply, but it changed nothing.

Nations and movements must choose sides.

Cold war era, all over again, hmm?

We can (...) try to figure out motives--eg bush and oil. I choose not to.

How is that? You just "decided" to ignore the reasons your administration is pushing your country towards war? How convenient...

For me it is simple and those who see complexity here and want endless debate(s) invite victory for the other side

I am sorry Mike but I cannot agree. All international issues are quite complex, as they involve a variety of economic and geopolitical variables. Thinking they are as simple as "They are evil, we are good" is ridiculous. Suggesting those who see the issue more complex than this work for the other side is beyond ridiculous.

Sorry to be so blunt but it just is. You cannot just say you "choose not to" think about the motives, and then say the people who do think deeper than you are working for the other side.

Lets hold our noses and finish the job--many ways to do this-- and then we can go back to try to figure out how to fix things long term.

In other words, bomb now and think later?

How best to do the job is really the only question and on this i defer to folks who know more than I

The same folks whose motives you choose not to question? Do you not see anything wrong with that?
