I guess they'll just have to quit selling those dumb ass SUV's. In 1965 30mpg fleet average would have seemed impossible. That's bullshit. Had gas cost $3.50/gal, the 30mpg fleet average would have been reached far sooner. Does the 30mpg fleet average now include pick ups? I doubt it. So you see.....the 54.5m/g is established just so a whole class of vehicles can be essentially removed from the American way of life by the idiot left wing bureaucrats in Washington. What about pick up trucks? You can't get more Americana than that.
