Sam, See #6525. As you have seen, I'm no stock picking genius. However, Jack Rains just might be. His timing so far has been perfect. So even though I'm not as smart or experienced as Jack, I am smart enough to read every word he posts (sometimes twice), and try to apply it to my long term investing strategy. In other words, I've made about 10 trades (all buys) in '96. So far all 10 decisions have been correct. Jack might make 10 trades tomorrow ,or a couple thousand trades a year. He HAS to work very hard and be pretty darn smart to make that many correct decisions. On the other hand, I don't have to work very hard or be very smart to make money with a long term buy and hold strategy on a company like Intel. Like our friend humble Carl said "it's a no brainer!"
