Erratic updating with the free version is my only complaint with Avira. After the initial install I had to go to the site and get them manually. After that, automatic updating is ok but it's not what I would prefer. I can't get Avira to not check for updates even after deleting the scheduled task. I can live with it but it is weird. Not looking a gift horse in the mouth. It works.
