Fred and Mq seem to be two of the few who have observed that the 1812 Overture, Charge of the Light Brigade, WWI and Operation Barbarossa were not such great ideas. And that was before Russia had mirvs and whatnot [such as polonium 210 and novichok].
"Yank Tanks to Murmansk" is NOT a good idea. The war "games" in Norway are obviously designed to do that and then cakewalk their way to Moscow while similar swarm up from Crimea and Ukraine, and across from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania with whatnot in the east and missiles over the north pole and from various flotation devices aka aircraft carriers.
Even with great success, which won't happen, the outcome will be the descendants of Genghis returning to the gates of Euroserfstan. NATO won't move to the Great Wall of China. There are a couple of hundred million unmarried young men in China [thanks to the 1 child policy and female foeticide]. They outnumber the pansies "manning" the Euroserf armies 100 to 1 with much more incentive to win. And economic wherewithal to do so.
5 days to go until the launch to celebrate WWI armistice and the war to end wars ..... which turned out to be more of a starting gun [when the archduke was shot] than a harbinger of eternal peace and bliss.
