Seawright Holdings, Inc. Plans to Be One of the First Spring Water Companies to Successfully Use Biodegradable Bottles
Tuesday April 10, 8:30 am ET
Company Makes Green Commitment to Apply Earth-Friendly Standards at the Core of Its Business Operations

STAUNTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Seawright Holdings, Inc. (OTC BB:SWRI - News), owner of one of the most prolific natural springs on the Eastern Seaboard, today announced its new corporate policy that prescribes ecologically responsible and sustainable business operations. This policy focuses the company's efforts especially on a commitment to use recyclable and biodegradable materials and alternative fuels, where possible and available, in the packaging and shipping of its Seawright Springs Premium Natural Spring Water product.

More specifically, Seawright Holdings is announcing that it intends to be one of the first bottled water companies to offer its product in a biodegradable bottle. Currently Seawright Water is offered in its own proprietary design bottle. In the 1st quarter of 2008 this bottle and all packaging will be converted to biodegradability.

"Seawright Holdings, as the owner of the pristine Seawright Springs, is reminded every day of the value of responsible stewardship of the environment," said Joel Sens, President and CEO of Seawright Holdings, Inc. "As new technologies emerge and become available for the bottled water industry, we pledge to be early adopters of any of them that will reduce waste, greenhouse gasses and our dependence of fossil fuels. We are making a product available for a consumer market that demands that their high-end quality products are as ecologically sustainable as possible. "

Biodegradable bottles are particularly important to Seawright. The company continues to closely watch the development of several new earth friendly technologies for bottling. Specifically, Seawright is intensely monitoring the progress of a biodegradable bottle made from an organic, renewable corn based resin that requires about 20% to 30% less energy to manufacture and contributes only half the carbon dioxide than plastics made from petrochemicals. Additionally, these corn based bottles are fully compostable and will degrade in a commercial composing facility into harmless water and organic material in 75 to 80 days.

On another front, Seawright is encouraging its suppliers to favor environmentally sustainable and renewable technologies in their products and processes, such as the use of biofuels in shipping and transportation.
