Penni-- Really? She was your husband's aunt? I never read the book, but I do remember the reviews. Must have been an interesting lady. Yes, I think you're right. George Sand did the same thing, George Eliot at least used a man's name. Ayn came along rather late in the game, but I imagine she still found it rather difficult to be taken seriously as a "philosopher". Even so, I feel there's something missing in what one is given to understand about her personality through her works. If I'm not mistaken--where did I read this?--there's a new bio out. But I don't think I'll read it. Not till it's published in paperback, should that happen. Janice
