Among a few audio books we checked out a few weeks ago was the, "The Last Empire" by Gore Vidal, Essays 1992-2000. We just started it on our travels home Sunday.

Near the beginning is an essay on Charles Lindbergh, a brave and brilliant man that took a lot of heat before our entry into WWII, basically because he was just a midwest non-interventionist, according to Vidal.. Nothing really sinister about him as I understood.

Excluding WWII, I am basically a noninterventionist.. because my philosophy is to live and let live. Usually people can sort their own problems out better than outsiders because they know them better.

We haven't even finished that essay of Vidals and we only have until the end of the week. <oh' oh'>.. But I think we will like the whole collection. Have you read it or heard it?

We went through a bunch of lighter stuff first, mistake?... Dave Barry, Hunter Thompson, Michael Crichton .. mostly enjoyable, except Chrichton's "Timeline" drug at time. He spent too much 'time' in the dark ages <g>.
