Money worries cited in killings By Marilyn Robinson and Karen Rouse Denver Post Staff Writers
Apr. 6, 2001 - Financial problems and stock market worries may have led John Bishop to kill his family and himself, Douglas County authorities said Thursday.
"It's likely these killings were in part motivated by financial problems," said sheriff's Sgt. Tim Moore.
Bishop, 41, had been depressed and under a doctor's care for about a month, according to a family member.
Authorities say Bishop, a Qwest Communications International manager, killed his schoolteacher wife, Sherrill, 38, their 9-year-old son, Andy, and 6-year-old twin daughters, Meghan and Kelley, then took his own life. (cont) denverpost.com |
