But Lacovara recalled that Netscape, as it was losing the browser wars in 1998, decided to make Navigator "open source" so that developers could tailor it to their needs. That shows just how desperate Netscape had become, after having lost the browser war to Microsoft's wanton price dumping and/or illegal bundling (you pick), and before finally giving up and selling the farm to AOL. If Microsoft's lawyers think this somehow helps their case, that's baffling. Dave
