I too hope this enthusiasm spreads, Jim. You (and others) might be interested in an article in the latest BusinessWeek (12/15) on MOT's plan for "system-on-a-chip" technology; Apple is mentioned (alas, as a fading star). This is on pg. 134. Then, on pg. 138, there is a pretty interesting piece on EarthLink, which is described as "The Mac of Internet Providers." Why, WHY do people INSIST on equating complexity with power? Hasn't the computer age proven exactly the opposite, that ease of use is the key to unlocking the true power of computing, at least for the end user? GUI, anyone? God, I get sick of this ignorance. The good thing about the EarthLink piece is that they look to take a pretty good chunk of the national ISP business over the next two years based largely on their ease of use and custome support. Maybe they'll open some eyes to the Mac? Sheesh, what a sorry state of affairs.

I believe there's hope for Apple yet. Steve'd better tell me "something I didn't know" at MWSF98, or this puppy could really take a dive. I look at AAPL's chart for the last 12 years and I just don't want to think that everything's going to end like this, not for a company with such incredible products. I suppose I am a worthy example of an Apple customer, but whether that makes me a genius or a shmuck remains to be seen.
