This was an interesting bit of news a couple of days ago that I am amazed did not find its way into western press -Turkish press had a field day last week, around heavy allegations of American officials meeting with PKK representatives. To those of us unfamiliar with this group, PKK is officially recognized by the US as a terrorist organization: state.gov Apparently, US top representative in Turkey went on the local MSNBC tv channel to deny any such meeting but there is a photo. The paper that broke the news says the photo is not the only proof. ntvmsnbc.com Scroll down for the photo. The guy on the left sitting in the awkward position (not used to sitting on the floor?) is supposed to be the American official: ntvmsnbc.com I find VERY interesting that this news is nowhere to be found in western media. I read about it in Pravda and an Azerbaijani site as well, but nowhere west of Turkey. If I were any more paranoid than necessary for physical survival, I would have to entertain the thought that there is a deliberate black-out on the news of American officials meeting TERRORISTS, albeit those threatening other countries and not America. All is fair in love and war, it seems. If this news is true, America's credibility in this "war against terror" will not survive.
