This comparing to someone else in financial terms is a quicker killer of "romance" I think. One of the lines of this rich girl was "an engagement ring should cost one month's salary" (whatever that means). All kinds of destructuve expectations build up in that approach. Well maybe that is LA. Former girlfriend now dating guy with several flashy cars and $6 million house. Says she doesn't care about money :)
