Len,the Nasdaq MMs set the prices. They are the ones that post the bid and asked prices and move them. When you buy, you buy directly from the MM who has bought it from somebody else. When you sell, you sell to the MM who will sell it to somebody else. You do not deal directly with another investor/trader on the Nasdaq. You always deal with the MM. Now, you can go in there and offer to sell your stock for a point or whatever lower than the bid and the MM will be glad to pick it up - just like he does many other times when inexperienced investors send in their market orders. But, his posted bid and asked prices will not move until he's ready to move them. Today, we saw millions and millions of shares traded in Intel again, but the MMs held it right on both sides of 135 for most of the day. And, yet on other days even with less volume, the MMs will move Intel big time up or down. Good trading. Jack
