SAN JOSE, Calif., March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Microwave Corporation (Nasdaq: DMIC - news), announced today the ProVision(TM) element manager, a centralized network monitoring and control system for all Digital Microwave Corporation products. Based on a UNIX® system platform, the ProVision element manager is scalable for management of small systems as well as large networks with more than 10,000 networked elements. It replaces the DMC Net® network management product offerings.
The ProVision system is built on the highly flexible AccessVision(TM) platform from Atlantech Technologies, Ltd., Glasgow, Scotland. Other key features of ProVision include the following:
* Fault, performance and configuration management * Hierarchical network mapping of the radio management environment * Event notification, monitoring, filtering, grouping, threshold, translator and manipulation * On-demand collection and reset of real-time and historical performance data * Long-term trending and analysis management information * On-demand enable/disable of monitored hot-standby switching on protected radio configurations * Y2K compliance
According to Charles D. Kissner, chairman and CEO of Digital Microwave, ''With ProVision, we are anticipating the industry's expansion in broadband, Internet and carrier-class technologies.
