'08 is too early to predict. Besides, the Democrats do not have to do much in the face of Bush and his cronies such as Tom Delay etc. who are out there self destructing. Now Bush's cronies are after Sen. Frist for his stand on stem cell research. The extreme right is pissed off at Roberts because he did not come out and say that he would re-examine Roe v. Wade and look to overturn it.

Why should the Democrats have to do anything when the Republicans are doing the job for them. The Republicans are taking this country down to the bottom. So I do not know what Mr. Brooks means by "So we are having a joint race to the bottom." Who is that we he refers to. The White House, the HR and the Senate are all Republicans. They have no one to blame except themselves.

The American voter is extremely intelligent and they will vote on the premise of their intelligence, unless there are attempts to suppress the voters like having the black voters wait long hours in the voting line etc.
