Barriers to entry are definitely high. Unfortunately, barriers to expansion are relatively low as far as I can tell, esp when economies of scale are an offset to these costs. I think that's what has gotten us into our present situation and it is nearly as troublesome in a highly competitive versus oligopolistic environment.
