C'mon. We're not talking about double voting here. Service men and women who
are stationed on ships and far-flung posts around the world cast their
ballots in good faith. As long as they did so properly in a timely fashion
and their ballots were received by the deadline that's all that matters. If
the plane carrying the military mail had to take off before a postmark could
be obtained and the ballot contained a valid witness signature, then it's a
valid vote. FL law does not require a postmark. Neither does it require that
witnesses provide their address. But you can forget about all the details on
this one -- the 5-page memo that Gore put out instructing the Democratic
canvassing boards on how best to disallow the votes of our men and women in
uniform stinks to high heaven. Doesn't this disturb you? I guarantee it will
disturb the majority of Americans, both Republican AND Democrat. Combined
with the shenanigans going on with the manual recount, even the Democratic
Supreme Court of FL will have to conclude that any semblance of "fairness"
ended with the multiple recount already concluded. That recount consistently
shows Bush has won fair and square. Any other result is suspect.
