Pixar raises its FY2000 earnings per share estimates
RICHMOND, Calif., Nov 8 (Reuters) - Pixar Animation Studios (NasdaqNM:PIXR - news) on Wednesday raised its earnings per share estimates for the fiscal year 2000, after reporting better-than-expected earnings for its third quarter.

The company said in a news release it would raise its diluted earnings per earnings to $1.30 to $1.45 for fiscal year 2000.

Pixar reported earnings for its third quarter of $8.8 million or 18 cents per diluted share. In the year ago period its earnings were $32.3 million or 63 cents a share.

The consensus analyst report for the quarter, as compiled by First Call/Thomson Financial, was 7 cents a share. For the fiscal year, analysts on average had expected to report earnings of $1.39 a share.

Revenues were $17.3 million, compared to $79.2 million in the third quarter a year ago.

Shares of Pixar, which were halted in after hours trade, closed down $1-7/16 to $31-5/16 on the Nasdaq.
