COMPAQ MALAYSIA AIMS TO BOOST CUSTOMER SERVICE
KUALA LUMPUR, Sep 14, 1999 (Asia Pulse via COMTEX) -- Compaq Computer Corporation Malaysia Sdn Bhd (CCCM), aims to be Malaysia's top information technology firm in terms of customer service, said the company customer services director, Matthew Han.
Speaking at a press conference after the launch of CCCM's main customer service centre here today, he said, the company planned to build several more of such centres to meet the growing demand for quality service.
"Todate, we have identified Penang as the location for another customer service centre. We are looking at setting it up as early as next year," he added.
For the Petaling Jaya service centre, Han said that CCCM had invested RM500,000.
The amount is a small portion of the US$15 million (RM57 million) Compaq Asia Pacific has allocated for electronic commerce and call centres for the region for the next five years, he said.
Han also said that CCCM would upgrade its 12 service outlets to better serve the company's customers.
Compaq is the second largest computer firm in the world and the largest global supplier of personal computers.
