Although there is a minor core group of people suppoting the terror, the vast majority are against this.

I don't know where you are by your comment, "over here," but I assume you are in the ME. I don't doubt that many ME Muslims don't like what is going on, and they may say it to you, a westerner. The leaders and the media, and more importantly, the Religious leaders, are still making excuses for the Muslim militants. And the majority keep silent in the face of this.
