Who knows when it will split! John Hull on here (hi John and Happy Holidays) a few weeks back gave us a lot of reasons why a 3 for 2 split (the only one that would work until more outstanding shares are authorized in the spring) wouldn't be desireable. He did not, however, say outright that they WOULDN'T do it, and even left the door open that they WOULD do it. I do know that even as a trader I am trying to always hold at least a small position until after a split-n-run! The real question would be if it would STILL be prudent to buy (more) shares right after a split announcement. Microsoft ran about 10 points in the days AFTER the split was announced, and if you had hopped right on it the morning after the announcement you still would have gotten about 8 of those 10 points.
