I've mentioned this before, I believe, but for those of you who aren't familiar with a tiny company called e.Digital, they are working with SNDK, LU, TXN and others on designing a music recorder that would use LU's compression codec - EPAC - and would be compatible with a number of other codecs. They are also involved with a company called Celestial Technology that has software for cataloging music on your hard drive. You'd keep your music on your hard drive and download what you want to take with you onto your mini-player. This seems a simple solution for storing your music and taking just what you want to hear with you. I don't see a problem with re-using a flash card over and over as long as you can exchange the music on it and put it back onto the hard drive.
