As you say, they all have real fast drives now. All these drives are still selling on price with a small consideration of added value. So, it is time to market that makes a profitable company. The vendors who enter the 10K race now miss out on all the high margin rewards.

For DRAM makers, to be late to market for even a quarter is devastating.

So, now Quantum has to compete on price with a well entrenched product. This may be a strategy that has allowed Quantum to count many profitless quarters in the high end.
