You're right Khris. It really isn't all that hard to track DRIP investments. All the companies I have set up plans with are very good about issuing quarterly statements which lay out exactly each individual reinvestment, cash investment, and split.

As almost all of the statements repeat the entire calendar year's activity you need only save the last statement from each year to be able to figure cost basis etc.

So figure you invest for 10 years in Intel. If you haven't used Quicken or similar software to track you simply pull out the yearend reports and type 40 - 60 transactions into software of your choice! For a company like Intel this investment of time is nothing compared to the increase in value of the shares you'll be holding.

The rich can trade, the rest of us DRIP.
