LSI and Cube's cost-cutting strategy in MPEG chip business. LSI's ability to cut costs for the set-top makers relies heavily on the ability of VLSI to integrate huge chip sets into one single chip decoder (this include mpeg video audio decoder and transport demultiplexer controller chips). Cube introduced the same technology back in Apri. they are currently working with Divicom to provide cost-effective solutions for set-top and broadcast system. LSI/AT&T/Paradyn is in direct competition with CUBE/Divicom/Thomson Electronics/NUKO/Westell/ALL BABY BELLs. which side of the market do you want to be on?
