I know. We chose to focus on war instead of finding possibilities that eliminate the need for war. Can you imagine if instead of spending it on the Iraq war, we had spent the $800B on getting electric cars on the road, building up new solar concentration and wind farms to produce electricity, and rebuilding our energy grid to support a more distributed energy model? $800B would have made it inevitable that we'd get to oil independence. It's so sad that we have had such small minded leaders, when we are a country with so much potential. We've simply lacked the vision and the will power to embark on game changing strategies. Very sad and now we're paying the price.
