I just upgraded from XP to Windows 7

Me too. I couldn't get my tax software to update itself after reinstalling it on the new PC. It tries to replace itself in its folder then restart. Win 7 doesn't permit this unless instead of starting it normally, you:

1. Find the .EXE file using Windows Explorer
2. Right click on the file name
3. Select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR

I hadn't expected this as I only have the administrator ID on my PC. The only clue was a popup instantaneously after selecting UPDATE.

The popup was completely blank except for containing a RED circle with a White X inside, and an OK button. There was no text anywhere that would give you a clue as to what was happening.
