An amazing series of posts, posted to someone here on SI- (it's really incredible what people will post on SI- one has to hope this sort of stuff doesn't trickle in to 3d for these folks):

"Hamas needs a new leader. Why not pack your bags and join the struggle"

followed by

"Maybe a few of us could get together and front him a bus ticket; unless he prefers a camel ride instead........."

and finally-
"He's a little gay freak that thinks he has a grip on things. He just doesn't live in the real world and if he ever finds himself there, he will be dropping trouser chili like a champ! "

The escalation in the intensity and vileness of the rhetoric is interesting (imo). I think it suggests that people reinforce the worst in each other, when they post in this attack manner, and tend to bring out new levels of extreme speech in each other. The group dynamic, I have long suspected, leads to heightened levels of group aggression. I hope people who engage in this feel a little dirty after they turn the computer off- but I wonder if the group participation gives them the feeling that it's ok- because there was someone else there willing to do the same thing?
