I hate magic.

I always thought I loved magic above all else on earth until I realized that the first power of magic is to produce forgetfulness, during which time the victim forgets that magic is illusory. The magic is believed for a time. How terribly, terribly tragic. Young and innocent and hopeful we stare, awash in belief, until our minds return to remind us of that unequivocal reality: it is illusion, from the beginning until the end.
