If I am getting bad sectors on my notebook HDD I will replace it and restore one of my images to the new drive.

I have gone through about 8 - 9 hard drives over the years, some would just not boot up one day, others I started getting bad sectors every week or two, my friend, a computer wizz told me to change it. I didn't have too cause the next day it would not boot. That was about 2001 when I was using Drive Image, went out bot a new HDD installed, formatted, F disk, then restored an image and I was up and running in 1 hour.

That is what I hope happens with my notebook. I don't want to play with a HDD that is creating bad sectors, its just a mater of time till it dies. I would rather change it out before then.

But I want to run the Hitachi HDD diag. It's much more thorough than the Lenovo HDD diags.
